Dear Delegate,

Thank you for confirming your participation in the Renewable Energy Conference & EXPO 2026 (REC26 & EXPO) at the Kampala Serena Hotel. We look forward to welcoming you to Kampala.

Over four days, we will discuss how Uganda moves “
From Systems to Scale” in powering its green economy. This year, we also invite you to see that economy beyond the conference room. You can visit the River Nile at Jinja, whose hydropower cascade supplies much of Uganda’s electricity. You can explore the forests and national parks at the heart of our conservation and tourism. And you can meet the communities whose livelihoods depend on both.

To make this easy, the organisers have partnered with LocalMotion Safaris, a Ugandan tour operator, to offer delegates a range of excursions:

  • half-day city and cultural tours in Kampala and Entebbe
  • day trips to the Source of the Nile
  • multi-day safaris for gorilla trekking in Bwindi, chimpanzee tracking in Kibale, and game drives in Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Parks
If you have already booked your flights, we believe it is well worth changing your itinerary. The conference closes on Thursday, 22 October. If you stay on through the weekend of 24–25 October, or arrive a few days early, you will have time for a full Uganda experience without missing any part of the programme. Gorilla trekking permits are limited, so we encourage early booking.

Local Delegates are also warmly welcome to join any of the excursions and to rediscover the country alongside colleagues from across the region and beyond.

Excursions are optional. Delegates book and pay for them directly with LocalMotion Safaris. For enquiries, please contact LocalMotion Safaris on:
  • Tel: +256 740 045 491
  • Email: info@localmotionsafaris.com.
We look forward to seeing you at REC26 & EXPO, and we hope you leave having experienced the best of the Pearl of Africa.
