National Renewable Energy Platform

Report Of The First National Renewable Energy Platform Stakeholders’ Meeting

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD) took a crucial step towards sustainable renewable energy development by establishing the National Renewable Energy Platform (NREP) in collaboration with the private renewable energy sector. Launched on the 24th of November 2021, NREP is a comprehensive forum that bridges the gap between the Government, the Private sector, Development partners, and other key stakeholders. It aims to foster collective action, promote knowledge sharing, stimulate innovations, and address the challenges hindering the growth of the renewable energy sector in Uganda. Structured around a thematic approach, NREP operates with five Technical Working Groups, each focusing on significant opportunities or challenges in the sector.
