Strengthening dialogue and coordination between the Government, Cooperation Partners, and the private sector in Uganda's off-grid energy sector.

The Off-Grid Energy Working Group (OGEWG) of Uganda was established in October 2023 with significant support from the Beyond the Grid Fund for Africa (BGFA).

Welcome to OGEWG

OGEWG serves as a hub for the exchange and dissemination of experience, know-how, and information garnered from programme implementation, regulatory or policy developments, and provides a forum for stakeholders to collaborate. Through its three-tiered structure consisting of the Steering Committee, Forum, and specialized Subcommittees, OGEWG addresses critical challenges in the off-grid energy sector and works to create an enabling environment for private sector investment.

Provide a hub for the exchange and dissemination of experience, know-how and information garnered from programme implementation, regulatory or policy developments.

Stakeholder Coordination

Strengthen dialogue and coordination between the Government, Cooperation Partners and the private sector in the off-grid energy sector.

Market Development

Contribute to the improvement of a framework conducive to private sector investment in the off-grid energy sector in Uganda in line with Government objectives.
