Mr. Julius Magala is a seasoned renewable energy practitioner with extensive experience in market development for off-grid solar and clean cooking solutions in East Africa. He currently serves as the Energy Access Coordinator at the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), where he manages the energy program, providing innovation grants, concessional debt, and technical assistance to clean energy businesses in Uganda. ​ Clean Cooking Prior to joining UNCDF, Mr. Magala was the Country Manager for Energy 4 Impact in Uganda, supporting businesses in delivering energy access to off-grid communities through innovative business models. He holds an Executive Master's in Energy Management from the Norwegian Business School and IFP School, and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Makerere University. In 2017, he was a Mandela Washington Fellow at the Public Management Institute of the University of California, Davis.
