Productive Use of Energy (PUE)

The Productive Use of Energy (PUE) focuses on harnessing renewable energy to enhance economic activities and improve livelihoods in Uganda. By integrating renewable energy solutions into key sectors such as agriculture, agro-processing, irrigation, and small businesses, PURE fosters sustainable development, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and contributes to poverty reduction.

NREP plays a central role in advancing PUE initiatives by coordinating stakeholders, fostering partnerships, and creating an enabling environment for innovative energy solutions. Its efforts align with Uganda’s energy and climate policies to address challenges in access, awareness, and infrastructure.

Improving the Political Framework for Productive Use of Energy in East Africa with GOGLA

GOGLA, the global association for the off-grid solar energy industry and Water and Energy for Food (WE4F) teamed up to improve the enabling environment for productive use of renewable energy technologies in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and Ethiopia.
