Capacity Building and Gender

Purpose

The purpose of the Subcommittee on Capacity Building and Gender within the Off-Grid Energy Working Group (OGEWG) is to drive discussions and initiatives aimed at enhancing human capital development and promoting gender equality within the off-grid energy sector. Its primary objective is to assess and address the capacity-building needs and gender disparities across various aspects of off-grid energy access and utilization.

Roles and Responsibilities

Skills Gap Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify skills gaps in the off-grid energy sector workforce.
Training Program Development:
- Design and implement targeted training programs to build technical, business, and managerial capacity.
Gender Mainstreaming:
- Develop frameworks and guidelines for gender mainstreaming in off-grid energy policies and programs.
Women’s Empowerment:
- Implement initiatives to increase women’s participation in the off-grid energy value chain.
Knowledge Management:
- Establish platforms for knowledge sharing and best practices in capacity building and gender equality.
